Terms of Use

Last updated: November 6, 2026

The short version:

  • Only time runs on a track or a closed road, and never touch your phone while driving.
  • You own what you post. You give us permission to show it in FastR.
  • No harassment, hate, illegal content, or footage of street racing. We remove content and accounts that break the rules.
  • Times from a phone are good estimates, not certified results.

The agreement

These Terms are an agreement between you and FastR Studios Inc. of Ontario, Canada ("FastR", "we", "us"). They cover the FastR app and fastrhq.com (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

You must be at least 13 to use FastR, and old enough to agree to these Terms where you live. If you're under the age of majority, a parent or guardian must agree to them for you.

Safety

Motorsport is dangerous. You are responsible for how you drive.

  • Tracks and closed roads only. Never record a run on a public road. Only time runs where that driving is legal and permitted, such as a race track, drag strip or private closed road.
  • Hands off while driving. Set up a run while you're safely stopped, mount your phone securely, and don't interact with the app while the car is moving. A passenger may use it where the law allows.
  • Obey the law. Traffic laws, track rules and the instructions of officials always come first.
  • Your vehicle is your responsibility. Drive within your abilities and your car's limits. FastR isn't responsible for injury, damage, fines or mechanical failure.

We may remove runs, posts or accounts that appear to show driving on public roads.

Accounts

You sign in with Apple or Google. Keep access to that account secure: you're responsible for what happens on your FastR account. Pick a username that isn't misleading or offensive and doesn't impersonate someone else. You can delete your account at any time in the app.

Your content

You keep ownership of the photos, posts, comments and other content you add ("your content"). You give FastR a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, reproduce and adapt your content (for example, resizing photos or making a run card) so we can operate and promote the Service, in line with your privacy settings. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from copies other people have already shared within FastR and copies in backups until they expire.

You promise that you have the rights to what you post, and that posting it doesn't break the law or anyone else's rights.

Community rules

Don't post or do any of the following:

  • Harassment, bullying, threats, or hateful content about people based on who they are.
  • Sexual content, graphic violence, or anything that exploits or endangers minors.
  • Footage or claims of street racing, or anything encouraging dangerous or illegal driving.
  • Faked or manipulated runs, or results you didn't actually record.
  • Spam, scams, impersonation, or other people's private information.
  • Content you don't have the rights to.

Use the ••• menu on any post or profile to report it or to block someone. We review reports and may remove content, restrict features, or suspend or delete accounts that break these rules, with or without notice. We have no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users.

Accuracy

FastR measures runs with your phone's GPS and motion sensors. Results depend on your phone, mounting, sky view and conditions, so they are estimates. They aren't certified timing and shouldn't be relied on for anything important, such as competition results or vehicle safety decisions. We may remove results that look implausible from leaderboards.

Purchases

Some features are unlocked with in-app purchases. Apple processes every purchase under its own terms, and Apple handles refunds. If a purchase is refunded, the feature it unlocked may be removed. Purchases are tied to your Apple ID.

Ending your use

You can stop using FastR and delete your account whenever you like. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms, if required by law, or if we stop offering the Service. If we discontinue FastR, we'll give reasonable notice where we can.

Warranties and liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We don't promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free or accurate.

To the extent the law allows, FastR and its people won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for injury, death, vehicle damage, fines or lost data arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or CAD $50, whichever is greater. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

You agree to cover FastR's losses and costs from claims caused by your content, or by your breaking these Terms or the law.

Apple

If you got FastR from the App Store:

  • These Terms are between you and FastR, not Apple. FastR, not Apple, is responsible for the app and its content.
  • Your licence to use the app is non-transferable and limited to Apple-branded devices you own or control, as allowed by the App Store's Usage Rules.
  • Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
  • If the app fails to meet any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any). Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
  • FastR, not Apple, is responsible for handling any claims about the app, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, consumer protection and intellectual property claims.
  • You confirm you're not in a country under a U.S. Government embargo or on a U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

Law and changes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes go to the courts of Ontario, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring them locally.

We may update these Terms. We'll change the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the app first. If you keep using FastR after changes take effect, you accept them.
